My work revolves around observing and commenting on contemporary culture through re-imagined prototypes of early American histories and practices. I thrive on long-range projects that merge research, painting, installation and social interaction. Since 2001 I have explored the tropes of American nomadic culture from a roaming Sideshow Tent with the Roadside Show & Tell, to the more recent Beautiful Possibility Project, a traveling exhibition of hand painted banners, map and survey station that I self-toured venue to venue across the United States and Canada from Rural and Native American Tribal Centers to Artist Run Spaces and Museums. Data collected from this project is now being developed into charts and diagrams that will lay the foundation for a Cultural Apothecary and a new focus on the social laboratory as a brick and mortar storefront.
